Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) is a technique by which the early analysis of design and support requirements for an equipment or system in a structured manner minimises project Whole Life Costs (WLC). The aims of ILS are to:
Influence the design early enough to be effective. This can be achieved by ensuring the supportability aspects are considered during the design phase; trying wherever possible, to ensure that user maintenance and routine servicing tasks can be performed easily and that existing tools and techniques can be utilised.
Identify, develop and acquire the support resources required. Calculate the requirement for spares, special tools, test equipment, codification, training and documentation and ensure they are resourced at the appropriate stages of the project.
Provide In-Service support at optimum WLC. Analyse the through life costs, identifying not only the costs of initial acquisition and development but also of operation, support and disposal throughout the life of the equipment.
Design the Support Solution. Ensure that the support solution considers and integrates all of the elements considered by the ILS process.
TMS Support Solutions Ltd (TMS) can offer a tailored support solution to ILS, providing a solution that addresses all of the requirements of the ILS Defence Standard (Def Stan) 00-600 and JSP 886, at optimum WLC. This is achieved by addressing the following which form the ILS process:

- ILS Element Planning and Management
- Logistic Support Analysis (LSA)
- Logistic Support Analysis Recording (LSAR)
- Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
- Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Analysis
- Technical Documentation and document management
- Training requirements
- Spares Provisioning
- NATO Codification
- AECMA S2000M
- Failure and Defect Reporting And Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS/DRACAS)
- Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation (PHS&T)
‘TMS is a unique service provider who fully understands the ILS process and has extensive experience in the employment of both ILS input and output data, thus meeting all equipment support, documentation and training requirements.’
