Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs)
TMS Support Solutions Ltd (TMS) specialises in the preparation of Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs) which can range from a simple scanned image (PDF) through to the presentation of datasets compiled from a block of S1000D compliant Data Modules (DMs). The content of the datasets (maintenance tasks, schedules, parts lists, warnings, cautions, illustrations etc.) is generated from a Common Source Data Base (CSDB). The great advantage of utilising a CSDB, is that information can be reused time and again in the same publications and across different platforms.
PDF based IETPs can be delivered electronically with a chapterised structure and a basic page turning function. The functionality of the PDF can be extended to provide complex linking (table of contents to paragraphs). Updates can be broken down to paragraph/illustration levels to enable a remote update capability.
Data Modules are compliant with the ASD S1000D specification. Task based Data Modules are produced as an output from the Logistics Support Analysis Records (LSAR) process and normally written to the ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English specification.
One of the most important factors in the production of Data Modules is a comprehensive set of Business Rules and a robust Data Module Requirements List (DMRL). The Business Rules specify in detail how the data modules are to be produced and detail any deviation from S1000D. TMS are able to produce business rules and a DMRL to meet any requirement.
The preferred MoD IETP viewing platform is trilogiView.
trilogiTM Development
Our trilogi IETP development team has successfully compiled, built and maintained S1000D trilogiView IETP applications on behalf of many military and commercial prime contractors. Let the tms IETP developers assist and advise you on the configuration and navigation element of your trilogiView IETP.
Want to know more about IETPs our engineers can provide guidance to support the preparation and delivery of IETPs and are involved in development of both S1000D and Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) development and are up to date with the latest developments.
