NATO Codification
What is NATO Codification?
NATO Codification System is the global language of logistics. It is the largest cataloguing system in the world which enables NATO countries to exchange logistics information on over 16 million items of supply, ensuring all items of equipment can be fully identified, managed and supported when units deploy.
For an item of equipment to enter the UK’s Military Supply chain it must be codified.
An NSN (NATO Stock Number) is broken down into 3 parts:
1005 – 13 – 123 – 4567
1005 NATO Supply Classification Code (NCS)
13 Country assigning the NSN (NCB code)
123-4567 Non-significant number which, with NCB Code, uniquely identifies the item
How can we help you?
Codification
We will take the stress out of the codification process for your company from start to finish. Right from when you decide you need an item codifying right through to receiving the allocated NSN in ISIS (Item of Supply Information System), all we require is for you to provide the source data (technical drawing/description) so that we can identify the item correctly.
Screening
We can also provide a full screening service on thousands of items in one go by using the Item of Supply Information System (ISIS) to accurately detect items that are codified. Using this service we can process large amounts of data quickly and efficiently within a secure environment from your data, in any format.
We will work with you to provide the support and advice you need to ensure the codification process is smooth and uncomplicated.
